FROM MODEL TO MOTHER

Twelve years ago, a young fashion model, Mari Malek, from South Sudan, Africa, came to the studio to take part in my project, “Born in Africa.” We made photographs. She has had a very impressive and meaningful career as a model, disc-jockey, actress and activist.

A few of the images we made in 2008:

She recently married Dame Mbaye, from Senegal.

She has become pregnant.

39 weeks.

2008—–2020. A few days later, her healthy child was born.
