A&E asked me to make a TV Spot and photograph in anticipation for their advertising of the Steven King horror movie, BAG OF BONES.

A very bright and talented little girl, Caitlin Carmichael, was cast and I worked with her for an hour to teach her how to “act” underwater. We initially worked out of the water with a mirror on the many variations of feeling and looking horrified. I taught her how to use her hands and body as well as her face. Then we went to the pool.

She learned very quickly about hyperventilating (in order to hold her breath for about 30 seconds) and to blow out air so that she could sink. I taught her how to manage her hair so the water would make it flow all around her head.

She was brilliant and the still images and video were wonderful.
